Vicar Benson was born and raised in the bustling metropolis of Worland, WY (population 5,000 on a good day) and while he misses the mountains, he is falling more and more in love with skyscrapers every day.
Having received his B.A. in religious studies from the University of Wyoming, he began his studies at Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, IN) in the summer of 2014.
After finishing his first year at seminary, Vicar Benson spent three months in Baltimore, MD as a summer vicar and fell in love with the urban environment. Alongside his love for the city, Vicar has a passion for campus ministry, which was so formative in his own return to orthodox Lutheranism.
Vicar will serve in a number of capacities through PLM, including work at Shepherd of the City, λόγος Lutheran Fellowship, and outreach on the campuses of Temple, Villanova, and Eastern University. He is excited to see how serving PLM will form him as he prepares for the Office of Holy Ministry, and is always willing to sit down and talk theology, football, and anything related to Wyoming. He can be contacted here.
